U.S. Representative for Georgia’s 10th District Jody Hice paid a visit to the Newton County Republican Party Monday night before catching a flight back to Washington D.C. Tuesday morning.
Hice provided a post-election update and answered questions raised by Republican Party members and guests at The Company Store in Porterdale.
“We had a tremendous gift in just the last few weeks, what an amazing Election Night we had,” he said. “A lot of folks were thrown for a loop, thank goodness for that.”
“We’ve been given a tremendous opportunity,” he said. “There is incredible excitement with our party and across the board.”
President-Elect Donald Trump has already laid out a100-day plan and 200-day and year-long plans are in the works.
“The basic message that we’ve been given is ‘Buckle up, because we’re about to rock and roll,’” he said.
Hice said the American people can expect to see the demise of Obamacare, an increase in border security efforts and tax reform in a relatively short time period.
“Just overall undoing multiple, multiple, just burdensome unconstitutional actions from this President and his administration over the last eight years is going to be an absolute highlight to see all these things one-by-one be repealed,” he said.
With the addition of new regulations from President Barrack Obama just last week, there are now more than 81,000 pages of new regulations in 2016 alone.
“As you can imagine, these things are not going to happen without great opposition from the Democrat party who just sustained a great loss,” he said.
Hice said he anticipates great things to come now that there is a Republican majority in the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives and the White House.
