The Recreation Commission has agreed to take control of the Nelson Heights Community Center and will bring that proposal before the Board of Commissioners at its next meeting.

On Monday night, the Recreation Board of Directors discussed the proposal and approved running the center if the BOC decides that’s what they want to happen, Recreation Director Tommy Hailey said. The board does have a couple of questions and concerns and one request.

“We’re on the agenda for Tuesday night. There’s just a couple of things we need to get ironed out, a personnel issue,” Hailey said. “I think everything will work out fine.”
