Jacquila Butler was named Newton High Schools 2014-15 Homecoming Queen Oct 3.  The king is Jessie Haynes.

Butler was escorted by her grandfather, Clinton Ross, and Haynes by mother Amanda Betts and grandmother Gayle Magness.

Butler is a scholar at Newton High, where she has been in Beta Club for four years. She is also a varsity cheerleader and participated in other clubs like Rmabassadors, vice-president of First Ladies, Key Club, FBLA and she is a part of the Upward Bound Trio, where she attends Georgia Perimeter College.

Butler attends Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she dances and also volunteers at Repairs of the Breach where she helps feed the hungry. 

She has already received two scholarships from Mercer University and Benedict College in South Carolina. Butler is hoping to be a Pediatric Cardiology. She is the daughter of Equalla Butler and the late James Butler and supported by her grandmother, Virginia Ross and family.
