In an effort to open the lines of communication between landlords and the city with the goal of improving the rental properties within the city, the Porterdale Police Department has established the Porterdale Landlord's Association.

The main goals of the association will be to improve the quality of the rental properties and therefore, the quality of life for tenants. There will be classes offered for landlords to learn the city's codes, as well as how to deal with those and other related topics.

The first meeting will be held at 10 a.m. on June 23 at city hall. The program is headed by Sharon Sims and Melissa Kizziah, along with PPD's Chief Geoff Jacobs and Investigator Doug Clifton.

Sims can be reached at ssims1201@aol.com; Kizziah can be reached at melissahouse@charter.net; Jacobs can be reached at (770) 786-2227; and Clifton can be reached at (404) 276-2059.
