Experts say warm weather has ushered in high pollen levels in Georgia, and the peak season hasn't even arrived yet.

WSB-TV reports that the higher temperatures in recent weeks have led to a surging pollen count.

Dr. Kevin Schaffer of Atlanta's Allergy and Asthma Clinic says the worst tree pollen producers - oak, hickory and pecan - are still a month away from leafing out.

Schaffer says this year's pollen levels are "off the charts." He says he hasn't seen such high numbers so early in the season in his 18 years in Atlanta.

The pollen season isn't expected to peak until late March or early April.
