Authorities are searching for the men who reportedly shot a Newton County man in the butt Monday night.

According to Newton County Public Information Officer Cortney Morrison, the victim received a call from a friend that he had not seen in awhile and the man asked if he could come over and visit. The victim agreed and gave the old friend his address. About 10 minutes later, the victim noticed a dark colored minivan pull up and he went outside to see his friend.

When he got to the van there were two black males inside, neither of which were his friend. He asked the men where his friend was and they reportedly told him that his friend was coming. When the victim asked the men why his friend didn't ride with them one of the men pulled a nickel-plated handgun and pointed it in his face, telling the victim to "give me everything."

Reports indicate that the victim told the men all he had on him was a pack of cigarettes and the men in the van allegedly said "I know you have more then that," at which point the victim started running for his apartment, yelling for the people inside to call the police.

It was during that time that one of the men in the dark colored minivan allegedly shot him in the butt.
