Splendid afternoon: Southern Heartland Art Guild recently held their annual Plein Aire Paint Out Picnic at the home of Susan and Bill Wahl in Social Circle. In addition to guild members from Newton County, art guilds from Madison and Monroe were among the invited guests. Artists set up easels, and Susan Adams, an instructor from Southern Heartland Gallery on the square, brought students from two of her oil painting classes — most of whom had never participated in this painting method.
