A Newton County Teenage Republican group has formed, with eight members signing up at the initial meeting in April.

Members are: Flannery Peay; Will Holdey, treasurer; Andrew Mitchell, secretary; Emily Baxter; Keegan Brothers; Jim Medlock, chairman; Connor Hilton; and Bret Dunn, vice chairman; and Rick Ingram as adviser.

“We will work hard to support the Republican Party and to get more young people interested in politics,” Medlock said.

“This club would not have been formed without everyone’s help, including Newton GOP Chair Delia Fleming…Plain Nuts Catering and Deli for letting us use their space, everybody in the community who helped get the word out and especially our adviser Rick Ingram and his wife, the second vice chair of the Newton GOP, Deede Ingram.”
