The National Weather Service is looking for help in building a climate database and predicting floods.
That help can come from you.
Do you have an interest in the weather? Think it might be interesting to have a temperature sensor and rain gauge in your yard or at your business?
The catch?
The National Weather Service is asking for a volunteer to be a Cooperative Weather Observer for The National Weather Service in Peachtree City. You would have to reside in the area for the next few years, take 24 hour high/low and current temperatures and rainfall totals sometime between 6-8 a.m. each day.
The measurements are then sent in via computer or phone.
An observer within a 5-mile radius of downtown Covington is needed. If interested please email the Observation Program leader, George Wetzel at george.wetzel@noaa.gov.
