James Stanley Moore Sr. was heading to work at SRG Global around 4:20 a.m. on April 24 when another vehicle crossed into his lane, ending the 59-year-old’s life. On July 4, 23-year-old William Andrew Spain was charged in the accident that caused Moore’s death.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, Spain was traveling north on Ga. Highway 162, when he crossed the center line and struck Moore’s Ford F-150 head-on. Moore was killed and Spain was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center to receive treatment for his own injuries.

GSP said that drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the accident, but the Specialized Crash Reconstruction Team was unable to find that distraction was a cause for the accident either.

Spain has been charged with failure to maintain and second degree vehicular homicide. Spain turned himself into the Newton County Jail on July 4. He received a bond of $11,250 and bonded out on July 5.
