Local woman killed in Ga. 212 wreck

Carol L. Hale of Covington was killed when her 2002 Olds Alero struck a tree off Ga. Highway 212 around 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Hale, 72, was the only person in the car, said Lt. Paul Cosper, a spokesman for Georgia State Patrol.

She was traveling north on Ga. 212 when she left the roadway and went on the to the right shoulder. She then overcorrected and ended up traveling across the center line of the road where her car struck a tree, Cosper said.
