SOCIAL CIRCLE, Ga. - Facebook will be looking to hire its first employees within weeks, Shane Short, executive director of the Development Authority of Walton County, told The Covington News.

“I was told by one of the company’s representatives that within weeks they’re going to be posting at least 20 jobs on their website,” he said. “Facebook Jobs will get you there.

“They’re going to start hiring very quickly.”

Opportunities for construction work will also become available very soon, Serra P. Hall, the director of commercial development of the Newton County Office of Economic Development, said.

“They’ve launched their new Facebook page (Newton Data Center) and we were told that they maintain that, that will be constantly updated with progress of the park, news and information of what’s going on with the new campus, so that‘s a great way for somebody to follow it, watch it, share it and watch that for leads about what they could do in the future to stay connected with the data center,” she said.
