Students looking for summer employment or adults looking for a job-hunting edge can attend seminars on dressing for success and customer service from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Nelson Heights Community Center at the intersection of Laseter and Puckett streets.

The seminars are sponsored by DeKalb Technical University and the Covington/Newton County Chamber of Commerce and will be taught by DeKalb Admissions Director James Johnson Jr.

Johnson said Nelson Heights was chosen as the seminar site at the request of county Chairman Kathy Morgan.

"She asked me if we could assist residents with some skills classes, and we decided to start at Nelson Heights and utilize that new facility," Johnson said Tuesday.

The classes are open to anyone and will be about 45 minutes each. Call the chamber at (770) 786-7510. Participants will receive a certificate from the chamber.
