Work on eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 scheduled this weekend has been “cancelled,” according to Georgia Department of Transportation press secretary David Spear.

The project consists of resurfacing the two right lanes of I-20 eastbound between Conyers and Covington, as well as work on the eastbound exit and entrance ramps at Almon Road.

It was originally scheduled to continue as planned, despite being tax-free weekend in Georgia. Spear offered no reason for the cancellation. The project will resume after this weekend.
