Heartscapes Art Gallery & Custom Framing cordially invites residents to the second annual Heartscapes Holiday Market Festival this Saturday and Sunday Nov. 17-18 from 10 a.m. until 5p.m.
The festival's purpose is to showcase the work of local artists, as well as the students of Heartscapes. "We had a core of artists with the initiative to get this off the ground," said owner Kathy Cuiffi.
The event offers plenty of gorgeous, one-of-a-kind pieces of art. Each piece of art on display is handcrafted by local artists. No artwork is reproduced or manufactured.
There will be a large variety of art, including metal, glass and wall art; jewelry; pottery; soaps and lotions; jellies and treats; gift baskets; scarves and hats; furniture and much more.
"The festival was successful beyond my expectations last year. I was so thankful," Cuiffi said. "When people think 'gallery' they think high price. That simply is not the case. I think that the low prices were key factors to last year's success."
Last year, 20 vendors were in attendance. This year, the festival has expanded; there will be 30 vendors showcasing their art. The prices of artwork will range from $5 to $50.
"I'm really excited and so grateful to live in this town that is so supportive of our studio, as well as our frame business. It's almost like a community event," Cuiffi said.
The gallery, which opened in 2002, holds art classes of various types almost every day throughout the week. They also offer custom framing, art and frame restoration.
Heartscapes is located at 3400 Highway 212 (between Highways 81 and 162) in Covington. The owners can be reached at (770) 385-5834.
