Heartland Woman's Club members Debbie Pohl, Rachel Gonter and Debbie Vanderbunt attended the Georgia Federation of Women's Clubs at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education on the University of Georgia campus in Athens.

In addition to attending workshops and business sessions, members heard from Marion St. Clair, newly elected secretary of the General Federation of Women's Clubs.

"Our club members are excited about everything we learned and will implement these new projects and ideas into our community," said Vanderbunt, president of the club.

Among its many projects, the club holds a charity croquet tournament each year, and this year the club donated $2,500 to the Newton County Library System from the proceeds of the tournament. The club also holds a yearly prom and a Christmas dinner with presents for Independent Enterprises. They also help with the Christmas Foster Children's party and the art reception in September for the Southern Heartland Art Guild.

Everyone is welcome to attend. For information, contact Vanderbunt at vanderbunt2326@charter.net or (770) 786-5002.
