The Southern Heartland Art Gallery hopes to deck the halls with holiday paintings as they invite artists of all ages to the gallery for several workshops and classes focused on painting holiday themed paintings.

Artist Ann Wildmon, a teacher at the gallery, said the gallery will host several classes and workshops that will feature painting holiday specific paintings starting on Nov. 30.

Wildmon said the gallery will hold the holiday edition of Just Paint on the Square, which will feature several two- or three-hour art classes that will focus on painting a special holiday painting.

Interested individuals can participate in the following classes:
• Friday, Nov. 30, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., artists will paint a 16x20 canvas of the featured painting "Family Lights." The cost is $25.

• Saturday, Dec. 1, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., artists will paint a 16x20 canvas of the featured painting "Snowy." The cost is $35.

• Saturday, Dec. 8, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., artists will paint the featured painting "Ornaments" in custom sizes. The cost is $35.

• Friday, Dec. 14, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., artists will paint a 16x10 of the featured painting "Soccer Snowman." The cost is $35.

• Saturday, Dec. 15, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. artists will paint a 16x20 of the featured painting "Silver Tree." The cost is $25.

Wildmon said the classes will be low pressure, step-by-step led and participants will have everything supplied to them for the class. She said snacks and drinks are welcome.

"It's relaxing and you can make them Christmas presents," Wildmon said.“You can stick a toe into art and not pay for a whole bunch of classes. It’s fun.”

Wildmon said the gallery will also host an event for children and adults called Elf Camp 2012. She said the workshop will be held from Dec. 19 through Dec. 22 and children in first grade and older are invited to attend.

People who are interested in attending Elf Camp 2012 can choose from the following days to attend:
