Two men with handguns reportedly robbed a Newton County teen Sunday night as he was walking home.

According to Newton County Sheriff's Office 1st Lt. Mark Mitchell, deputies were called to a home on Highpoint Trail just after 10 p.m. When they arrived they spoke with a woman who told them her 17-year-old son had been robbed while walking home.

The victim was walking near Gross Lake Parkway and Fairview Road when two black males approached him, brandishing weapons. The teen said one of the men had a silver gun, the other a black pistol and they forced him to hand over a brown winter hat, blue jean jacket and approximately $55 in cash.
