The Fairview Estates neighborhood is now home to a public park following the grand opening of the Fairview Community Park Wednesday afternoon.

The park was built with Neighborhood Stabilization Program money in an attempt to revitalize an area ravaged by foreclosures.

County commissioners, state officials, recreation members and neighborhood residents all celebrated the opening and spoke about the time and effort that went into making the park a reality.

Fairview Estates is located off Fairview Road.
