For the eighth consecutive year, the Newton High School MCJROTC program has earned national distinction as a Naval Honor Unit. This award places Newton High in the top 20 per cent of the 225 Marine Corps Junior ROTC programs in the nation. “As a result of our selection as a Naval Honor Unit, our program may nominate three cadets to compete for twenty appointments under this category to the United States Naval Academy,” said Gunnery Sergeant (Ret.) Sherman Smith.
