According to Newton County Board of Commissioners Chairman Kathy Morgan Crowell Road at Brown Bridge and Interstate 20 and the Brown Bridge Road bridge are closed semi-permanently until water recedes and the damage can be further assessed. There has been a sinkhole identified on Crowell Road and significant erosion. The roads which remain closed will be evaluated as the water recedes to see if they are safe to reopen to the public.
