A woman called police and said another woman, later identified as Titoya Paremore, was slapped in the face by her boyfriend Nicholas Bolton, while she was holding a baby. While police were on the way to the scene, dispatch received another call from someone who said Bolton was standing over Paremore and stomping her as she held the baby.
According to the report, when police arrived they were flagged down by about 25 people in front of Nixon Drive. Several people all talking at once told police which apartment Bolton and Paremore were in. Police went to the residence and knocked on the door.
A woman answered the door and police asked her if she knew anything about Bolton and Paremore getting into a fight. The woman said the pair had already left on foot. She said Paremore was wearing black pants and a black shirt. Another officer said she saw a female matching the description walking with another person near the railroad tracks on Alcovy Road. Police drove to the Alcovy Road area and found Paremore sitting in the bleachers at Pactiv softball field.
They approached her and asked her what her name was and Paremore asked officers why she needed to give them her name. Police explained that her name was needed for an investigation about a fight that happened at the housing authority. She told police her name was Tiffany. They asked for her name again and she told police she was waiting for a ride. Police continued to question Paremore and she finally gave them her last name.
They escorted her back to Nixon Circle. Police also located Bolton at the softball field and took him back to the area.
Two women identified the pair as the couple involved in the fight. Witnesses said the two have previously fought in the housing authority. Paremore and Bolton had no visible injuries.
EMS was called to the scene to check the infant, but no injuries were found. Police said Paremore had a warrant out of Columbus. She was charged with giving a false name. Bolton was charged with simple battery and cruelty to children. The two were also given a banishment notice to sign, which was submitted to the housing authority. They were taken to the Newton County Detention Center.
