OXFORD, Ga. - The City of Oxford broke ground for its Asbury Street Park project Tuesday morning. The city council awarded the $733,685 contract for construction of the park to HCS Services, LLC at its Oct. 1 meeting.

Council members had included $800,000 for construction of the park in the city’s FY2019 capital budget. The contract does not include surfacing or playground equipment.

City Manager Matt Pepper said the city hopes to have the 4.5 acre park at W. Watson and Asbury Streets completed by March or April 2019.
