About 135 runners raced around downtown Covington Saturday morning during the second annual Steeple Chase, hosted by First United Methodist Church.

The overall male winner of the 5K was Benito Garcia, and the female winner was Courtney Raiser of Conyers. For the 40-plus age category, the male winner was Greg Chapman of Conyers and the female winner was Dana Knight of Oxford.
The 5K was just one attraction at Change The World, Impact The Community Day, which also featured a community service fair, health screenings, a blood drive, a petting zoo, games and a barbecue and dessert cook-off.

The event is designed to bring the local faith community together to support and raise money for local nonprofits, including FaithWorks, the food pantry, the sack lunch ministry, Newton Medical Hospital Auxiliary, Washington Street Community Center, the homeless shelter and the Covington Lions Club.
