COVINGTON, Ga. – Recent retirements at the Covington Fire Department have created opportunities for promotions and new firefighters. Fire Chief Jeremy Holmes presented the department’s newly promoted firefighters and newest members at Tuesday’s City council meeting.

Holmes said of his newly appointed chief officers, captains, lieutenants and engineers, ”This was a very tough competition. We have great firefighters in this department and we’re very proud of all of them. These guys scored out the highest throughout the process and did an excellent job.”
