Church Mouse Needlers craft stockings

Church Mouse Needlers of Mansfield United Methodist Church have completed a special holiday season project, making large baby-size Christmas stockings for the Birthcare Center of Newton Medical Center.

Using red and white felt provided by the Center, the Needlers cut and sewed 90 stockings. They are continuing to make baby hats for newborns, including red ones to be worn with the stockings.

The Birthcare Center begins presenting babies in these stockings around Thanksgiving.

This fiber arts group meets the second and third Saturday of each month, 9:30 a.m. to noon, at Mansfield UMC. After Christmas, the group will also meet on the fourth Saturday of the month. Participation is free.

Experienced needlers and beginners are welcome. Children from fourth grade and up are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.
