The Veterans Memorial Middle School cheer team, the Cheer Generals, hosted a community yard sale in its school’s parking lot Saturday to raise money for new uniforms. The cheer team raised nearly $500 by renting out parking spots to sellers, said Coach Marianna Mansfield.

The team needs a total of $2,000 for new uniforms and is planning to hold a dance fundraiser at the school later this year. The team cheers at football games and participates in cheerleading competitions.
