Things are popping on Crowell Road now.

Kymberlie Durden and Rosa Thomas opened a brand new popcorn shop, called Pipity Pops, Sept. 24, serving the snack in gourmet forms.

What seems to be the only popcorn shop in the Covington area is completely original in its popcorn recipes and has a wide range of customers of all ages. Pipity Pops is open to all customers from noon-7 p.m. from Tuesdays through Saturdays.

Pipity Pops’ original recipes come together to make their best-selling popcorn, which include flavors like: The Boss Hogg, Wedding Cake, On the Square, Cookies and Crème, and Creamy Caramel. Each of the best-selling flavors has their own flavors that are custom created.

“I think that Covington deserves their own popcorn shop. My mother really encouraged me to open my own popcorn business,” Durden said. “I wanted the popcorn to be as close as possible to the appearance, taste, and color.”
Pippity Pops is located on 55 Crowell Road, Covington, Ga. 30016. Although there is only one building, the owner said she would like to make Pipity Pops a franchise within a year.

“I wanted to pay homage to the history of Covington,” Durden said. “I am an artist that travels all over the country, and I saw that all other cities had a Popcorn shop.”

Pipity Pops offer customizable gifts where customers are able to customize their own bags and popcorn that will make the perfect gift.
