COVINGTON, Ga. – IDG Vision Consulting & Training, a personal and professional development firm offering consulting and training services, was recently named the Covington/Newton County Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Month.
“Everyone needs a coach. They don’t necessarily think about it that way, but coaches are designed to kind of help you to get from where you are to where you want to be,” Dr. Andrea Bowens-Jones, president and CEO of IDG Vision Consulting & Training, said. “The mission of my company is, and what IDG stands for is, Inspire, Develop, Grow and it’s about inspiring, developing and growing a vision inside of you.”
Bowens-Jones, who is a chemist by training, found her passion for people and team building when she worked for Proctor & Gamble in leadership roles. She said she reached a crossroads in her life and discovered that her true passion was working with people.
With two years in business, the Alabama native had a gut feeling that Covington was the place she was meant to be.
“Coming down here, meeting some of the people, I joined the chamber and things like that, I just knew that this was where I was supposed to be,” she said.
She said she was excited and surprised to be named the Small Business of the Month by the chamber.
“It acted as confirmation that I am making an impact,” she said.
IDG Vision Consulting & Training offers services, including workshops, seminars, one-on-one coaching, group coaching and mastermind groups. She also offers a Resident Scholar Program which helps expose students to Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) fields.
Bowens-Jones said she also offers a free one-hour training staff development session called Power Hour.
