Hays Tractor has been in the family for 58 years and during that time the company has strived to provide the best customer service possible.

"A lot of customers say we treat them like friends and family," General Manager Shelia Hays Massey said. "They come to buy the tractor, but also gain the relationship with the family here."

Former owner Lamar Hays stressed customer service and Massey said she plans to follow in her father's footsteps.

"I want to make my daddy proud and carry on his legacy," she said. "I want to carry on all the knowledge he passed down through the years."

Although Massey might not be able to quote part numbers off the top of her head like Hays, she knows the profession well and has a experienced and passionate staff. Service Manager Barry Hays has over 46 years of experience working on tractors. Parts Manager Jason Kilpatrick is a former customer who used to pick Hays' brain about old tractors. He loved the challenge of restoring old tractors and was finally hired to join Hays Tractor five years ago.

Hays Tractor is unique in its ability to handle old and new tractors alike. They can service and sell parts for new top-of-the-line tractors, but their history makes them one of the go-to places in the entire country for older parts and equipment. Massey has a picture in her office of an old 1947 Farmall Cub tractor, Hays favorite. She can still get parts for that tractor today. She said her co-general manager Brian Massey will take the time to find the parts a customer needs, no matter when they were made.

"Brian is especially good at finding parts," she said. "He can get parts no body else could find or would take the time to find."

The staff at Hays Tractor will take the time to sit down and help any person, whether a farming veteran or a person who has never used a tractor. They will help pick the equipment and parts they need and won't sell them anything they don't. Hays Tractor serves full-time farmers, weekend farmers, gardeners, landscapers and anyone else who needs equipment or advice.

Hays Tractor sells two tractor lines Kubota and McCormick tractors, but can provide parts and services for some other brands. However they have other equipment from a huge range of providers.

Shelia can even help you finance your purchase on sight. She also said she is a certified UPS shipper, so she can send an packages, tractor related or not.
