It might be April Fool’s on Monday, but it’s no joke at Bullritos, where chicken burritos will be free that day.

The Houston-based, quick-casual burrito restaurant will hold a community appreciation event and is giving away free chicken burritos with all the fixings from 5 to 8 p.m. or until the food runs out. The owners anticipate giving away more than 10,000 free chicken burritos during the promotion. The store is located at 10327 Industrial Boulevard, in the shopping center across from the Covington Walmart.

“There is no trick to this promotion,” franchise owner John Beszborn said. “On April 1, we will serve everyone in line for the free chicken burrito, the same fresh ingredients, with our customizabull bag and friendly service from the first person to the last.”

Beszborn said the small chain uses only fresh ingredients.

“We want to change people’s food expectations. Fresh food just tastes better,” Beszborn said. “All we have back there is a recipe book and two dozen knives.”
