Tree for a tree: Covington resident Eric Spell, left, accepts two free tree seedlings from Home Depot Sales Associate Tamla Nevraumont as he takes part in the Bring one for the Chipper event Saturday. Community members who recycled their Christmas trees at the Home Depot, Oxford’s Maintenance Facility or at any Neighboorhood Recycling Center on Saturday received a nursery seedling as a thank-you gift. The event was sponsored by Keep Covington/Newton Beautiful who distrubuted Green Ash, Dogwood, Swamp Chestnut Oak and Catalpa seedlings during the event Saturday.

Keeping things green: Charles Wilborn, Keep Covington/Newton Beautiful Chairman, recycles his Christmas for Bring One for the Chipper. Newton County residents can recycle their live Christmas trees at all Newton County Neighborhood Recycling Centers.
