A Newton County deputy arrested a man for simple battery after he tried to choke his girlfriend and threw her to the ground.
The girlfriend was upstairs with her eight-month-old daughter texting when the boyfriend entered the room. The boyfriend told the talking baby to shut up and the girlfriend told the boyfriend not to talk to her daughter that way. The girlfriend then went to pick the baby up and the boyfriend grabbed her wrist instructing her not to.
The girlfriend then went to leave to light a cigarette when the boyfriend told her she couldn't leave and said, "I have something for you."
The boyfriend then attacked the girlfriend by grabbing her, throwing her onto the bed and putting his hands around her neck.
At this point, another individual who was in at the residence removed the baby from the room.
The boyfriend released the girlfriend and she tried to leave again.
However, the boyfriend grabbed her by the neck, threw her to the floor, ripping out her weave, and hitting the back of her head on the floor.
The girlfriend then began to call 911. The boyfriend took the phone away from her and threw it out the window.
The boyfriend was arrested for simple battery, criminal trespass and interference with a 911 call.
