Cards and camaraderie: Mayor Kim Carter presented a proclamation for Benton House, Covington’s Senior Living Community, to Cathy Harville, executive director and Victoria Chandler, community relations director. The proclamation was to declare Cruise Week in recognition of Assisted Living Week held Sept. 13-19. The community celebrated by turning Benton House into a luxury cruise ship. Residents celebrated with a fabulous week of meals, games and entertainment. Residents’ families, friends and local Covington residents were invited to attend the week long celebration. Benton House hosted about 60 guests for the Captain’s Dinner, which included Covington’s own Irene Smith.
