Authorities are searching for four men who reportedly tied up a clerk and robbed her at gunpoint at Direct Gold and Pawn on Ga. Highway 36 today. According to Newton County Sheriff’s Office 1st Lt. Mark Mitchell, deputies received a call to the store at 12:40 p.m. and, when they arrived, found the clerk bound and suffering from superficial injuries. Witnesses told police that four black males, one wearing a white hoodie, entered the store. At least one of them was brandishing a weapon and all wore gloves. After securing the clerk, the bandits left with an undetermined amount of handguns and rifles. Security cameras from the business show the men getting into a white, newer model four-door vehicle — possibly a Toyota or a Nissan. They left the parking lot heading north on Ga. Highway 36.
