A man who was reportedly viewing explicit images on his laptop computer Saturday at a Covington doughnut shop was arrested on a charge of distributing obscene material and had his computer confiscated by police.

According to the Covington Police Department report, Travis Wilborn was sitting at a counter at the Dunkin' Donuts on U.S. Highway 278 about 10 p.m. viewing explicit images. The laptop was placed where it could be viewed by children who were sitting on the patio, police reported.

Officers told Wilborn to place the laptop into his car. Police reported that they asked Wilborn why he was looking at pornographic images in a public place with children present and he reportedly replied that he was "looking up some material to download for his friend."

He also told officers that the laptop belonged to someone else and that he was unsure what may be on its main drive. The laptop was confiscated and will be turned over to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for a forensic analysis, police reported.
