School Closings
- Social Circle City Schools will close at 1 p.m. due to inclement weather
- Newton County Schools have canceled all after-school activities with the exception of the Newton High Basketball game at 6 p.m.
- Georgia Perimeter College has canceled all classes that begin after 5 p.m. Tuesday
The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a winter weather advisory for snow, which is in effect Tuesday from noon to midnight.
Rain will change over to snow early Tuesday morning in the west and hold off until afternoon in the east. Once the snow begins accumulations of up to 1 inch can be expected across the advisory area. Snow will begin to taper off late Tuesday into Tuesday night.
A winter weather advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.
