Authorities are still searching for two accused sex offenders, believed to be hiding out in Newton County after allegedly assaulting a local child.

Newton County Sheriff's Office in connection with the U.S. Marshals, Georgia State Patrol, the Covington and Conyers police departments, the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security are searching for Donald Mac Brown, 36, and David Wesley Crawford, 57. They are wanted out of Newton County for child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes and solicitation of sodomy. The victim was known to these suspects. Conyers Police Department also has charges on Brown for sexual exploitation of children.

According to a BOLO (be on the look out) released by the NCSO, "both [are] aware that they are wanted and Brown has stated he will not go back to jail."
Crawford and Brown are both suspected to be armed with firearms and knives and the family believes they may be hiding in the wooded areas of Newton County.
Authorities are now conducting air searches of various wooded areas around Newton County looking for the two accused child molesters. If the air searches reveal any suspicious activity, ground crews are on standby to investigate.

If residents notice anything suspicious or think anyone may be living in the woods near them, they are advised not to investigate themselves but to immediately call 911.

"Do not confront the subject," said Newton County Sheriff's Deputy Cortney Morrison. "We don't want people to go into the woods searching for subjects."
Conyers police assisted the U.S. Marshals last week with a search of Brown's residence on Robin Road, according to CPD Lt. Jack Dunn. During the search investigators found a text message on Brown's phone sent to a woman offering money for sex.

The search also uncovered pornographic images on the phone of a 5-year-old child who was known to Brown.

Dunn said the pictures were consistent with the types of images found with other prosecuted child molesters.

"It was not a suitable picture of a 5-year-old. It is obvious it was taken for sexual gratification."

Brown was booked into Rockdale County Jail on Nov. 28 on charges of misdemeanor solicitation of sodomy and released three days later.

Brown is a white male, approximately 6-feet-tall and 245 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair.

Crawford is a white male, approximately 5-feet-5-inches tall and 135 pounds with blue eyes and gray hair on the sides and bald on top.

They are believed to be traveling in a 1999 white Ford F-150 with Georgia tag BZW9023.
