Washington, Monticello, Clarke and Church streets will be used for upcoming filming of Universal Pictures movie A Myers Christmas from 5 a.m.-9 p.m. on Sunday Dec. 13.

The Covington City Council unanimously approved the closures during Monday’s meeting. The filming will occur in the Square and in front of the old Mayfield Hardware store on Washington Street.

One hundred twenty-five crew and 125 extras are expected to be used for the filming.

A Meyers Christmas has been filming in Atlanta recently and will come to Covington to film a town scene. According to imdb.com A Myers Christmas is about “a dysfunctional family that gathers together for the first Thanksgiving since their mom died,” and stars Gabrielle Union, Nicole Ari Parker and Danny Glover.
