Gary Lee Hunt, 47, and his wife had been drinking Friday evening when Hunt decided to show his wife his gun. According to Newton County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer, Lt. Tyrone Oliver, he was trying to show his wife how to shoot his gun.

Hunt was in the process of unloading the gun when it went off, striking is wife in the left hand. She was transported to Atlanta Medical Center where she was treated and released. He turned himself in Monday on charges of reckless conduct and was released the same day.
