ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia Department of Labor officials say the government shutdown will have a limited impact on consumer services.
Department spokesman Sam Hall said Tuesday that all Georgia Department of Labor career centers will be open during their normal business hours. Officials say customers are encouraged to keep their appointments with department staff, and attend workshops they've been scheduled for.
Hall says the shutdown will not impact state unemployment insurance benefits or federal emergency unemployment compensation.
Hall says the state and federal agencies will not be able to publish new workforce data during the shutdown.
