ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Mississippi State defensive coordinator Chris Wilson has been named the defensive line coach at Georgia.

Coach Mark Richt made the announcement Wednesday.

Georgia hired Wilson to replace longtime assistant Rodney Garner, who took a job at Auburn, his alma mater. Wilson arrived at Mississippi State in 2010 as the co-defensive coordinator and line coach, then took over as the sole coordinator the last two seasons.

The 44-year-old Wilson also has coached at Oklahoma and Colorado.
