ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia University System Chancellor Hank Huckaby says the system is undergoing several fundamental changes to its structure to better serve students.

Huckaby made the remark during his State of the Student speech Wednesday. He shied away from divulging many details on what specific changes could be in store for the university system, but highlighted recent school consolidations and developing a relationship with the Technical College System of Georgia as indications that the system is working to encourage student progress and success.

The chancellor departed from the traditional State of the System speech, saying the change in focus is meant to reflect the university system making students a higher priority.
