God lays out his plans

With precision and accuracy God lays out his plans and works toward the accomplishment of his purpose.

As Peter declares to us: "He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9b) At the same time God told Isaiah, "I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please." (Isa 46:9-10). The prophecies of Daniel 11 are so clear and precise that one writer records, "Bible scholars can’t believe they were written beforehand."

While these images and prophecies may seem mind-boggling to us and we may not see the purpose in them, one thing is clear. That thing is God is working ultimately for the redemption of man and holding back his coming in order that the most souls might be saved. Christian, it is one thing to know these things and another altogether to be actively involved in these things. Let us be actively involved in the accomplishing of God’s plan by joining him in the work of seeking and gathering those whom he will redeem. What are you doing today to participate in the unfolding plans of God?
