Even the elephants and ducks

“Your love is faithful, Lord, and even the clouds in the sky can depend on you.”
—(Psalm 36:5 CEV)

Have you ever sat on the porch on a lazy afternoon looking up at the clouds in the sky and trying to recognize shapes and patterns? I remember as children, we would lie on the grass on lazy, hot summer afternoons, looking up at the sky and picking out dinosaurs and elephants, trains and ducks. As I look back on those lazy days of summer, I think, “What fun we had!”

When I read the verse in Psalm 36 that even the clouds in the sky can depend on God, I wonder how much I really depend on God. Thinking of those elephants and ducks, I know that God loves all of creation, and the Bible reminds me that God takes care of even the smallest sparrows and the lilies of the field.

So when I get really worried about something in my life, either significant or not very important, I remember is that God is faithful, and even the clouds in the sky can depend on God’s faithfulness.

When you look at the clouds in your life, how can you see God’s faithfulness?
