Two Newton County students won visual art scholarships recently through Southern Heartland Arts, Inc.

Southern Heartland Arts, Inc., a nonprofit organization advocating for the visual arts in Newton County, presented its annual college scholarship awards to graduating seniors majoring in the visual arts.

Catherine Laseter will be attending Georgia College at Milledgeville after she completes a full summer of Art related community service jobs with both SHA and Arts Associations’ children’s’ summer camp programs. Catherine graduated from Eastside with honors.

Trinity Harrison will be attending Texas A&M in the fall, and plans to have internships with two art galleries in Atlanta this summer. Trinity graduated, with honors, from Newton High School.

Both young ladies received several service awards and honors from clubs and organizations in their respective high schools. Southern Heartland, Inc was thrilled to present scholarships to these two outstanding young ladies.
