Stephanie Leigh Bales of Monticello and James Ross Hays of Mansfield were united in marriage June 5 at Shiloh Baptist Church, Newborn, with Charlie Edwards, the bride’s grandfather, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Owen and Ellen Bales of Monticello and granddaughter of Charlie and Shirley Edwards, Rudon and Jean Tuck and Wayne Bales. The groom is the son of Freddie and Alma Hays of Mansfield and the late Linda T. Hays. He is the grandson of Pleas and Bettye Hays, Emily Taylor and the late Edward Taylor.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Serving as her maid of honor was Hannah Vaughan of Conyers. Bridesmaids were Shannon Anderson of Mansfield, Rebecca Robinson of Sandersville and Jamie Bales of Monticello.

Best man was David Compton of Porterdale. Groomsmen were Leland Ready of Waynesboro, Charlie Glow of Newborn, Malique Smith of Mansfield. Riley and Abby Robertson of Mansfield were flower girls.

The reception was held in the Shiloh Baptist Church Fellowship Hall and the couple honeymooned in Key West, Fla., and Nassau, Bahamas. They now reside in Newborn.
