Taking over Peachtree
Placeholder Image

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have miles of Atlanta streets to wander on your bike or on foot without worrying about being plowed down by a MARTA bus? Well here’s your chance to find out! For four hours on Sunday 2.7 miles of Peachtree Street will be closed to cars and open to YOU! You can ride your bike, walk, skateboard – you can travel in any way that does not involve a gas engine. I have this image of a bunch of people running around like they’ve lost their mind with the pure joy of taking over one of the most popular streets in the city – and I like it! You can line up at 1:30 p.m. at Peachtree Street and Ellis to ride, walk or twerk your way down to the High Museum in the Great Atlanta Bicycle Parade. Go ahead and decorate – the crazier the better. This is Atlanta, after all.
