Citizens had a chance to meet candidates running for election in all the seats coming open in 2016 at the Newton County Farm Bureau's Ice Cream Social Thursday.

The event was an informal setting under the pavilion at Legion Park in Covington, not only allowing casual conversation with candidates, but a snack of a scoop of ice cream and cookies as well.
