Welcome back to the Music Minute, Covington music fans, and it's looking like we've got a huge week of music on tap here in the home county. Let's get to it. 

Harley Dills live at Lahrceny Tavern, Porterdale, Thursday, Feb. 9 9 p.m. 

Dills, the front man for local band Sanctified Revival, has been turning heads everywhere with his big and impressive voice, intricate guitar work, and unique blend of Southern Rock. While he's impressive in the full band format, his stripped down solo acoustic shows are always a real treat. This should be a great show at this fine venue, formerly known as The Social House. 

Brian Cameron live at The Speakeasy, Porterdale, Friday, Feb. 10 8 p.m.

Another night in Porterdale and another highly regarded front man playing a solo acoustic show. Cameron is the lead singer and guitar player of The Reluctant Saints, a killer band who made their presence known on our scene when they headlined the Yellow River Jam this past fall. Their sound, a very good one, could be described as a blend of Southern Rock, Country, and Blues. And Cameron has just the right voice to play this style. In addition to several choice covers, you will most certainly hear some of his great original material. And as we've mentioned before, The Speakeasy is such a cool spot to catch a show. 

Idylls live at The Listening Room at Irish Bred Pub, Covington, Friday Feb. 10 8 p.m. 

This is a duo that we've covered a time or two and is comprised of Rebecca Bates and Brad Parker. They started their collaboration with the local group Tin Roof Wranglers some years back. Their eclectic sound can best be described as a mix of Americana and Singer-songwriter with elements of Alt-Country and New Folk. The centerpiece of their sound are the vocal harmonies. Beautiful, lush, and "drippy,"it will, as I've written before, give you goosebumps. It truly is impressive. As many of you know, Rebecca is a bandmate of mine in Sweet Harmony, so you know she's a pro with harmonizing. Less of you may know about Brad, but I'm here to tell you that his voice is as good as any you'll hear. Combined, it is a brilliant sound. 

Their influences are wide and varied and are a true representation of their sound. Eagles, Ryan Adams, Crosby, Stills & Nah, Neil Young and The Indigo Girls are the main ones. Covers that you'll hear on Friday will run the gambit from Damien Rice and My Morning Jacket to Citizen Cope and Waylon Jennings and all points in between. This should really be a special evening at Covington's premier music venue. 

Shane Clark live at Amici, Covington, Friday, Feb. 10 8 p.m.

Clark, a Minute fave, has been pretty busy lately. As I wrote about a couple of columns ago, he's recently joined Famous by February, a local alternative rock group. But he's still doing his solo acoustic thing, and that's a good thing! Shane is equal parts Rock and Country with an emphasis on 90's Alternative and 70's Outlaw with a bit of Blues thrown in for good measure. Always a joy to see and hear, this should be a fun one on College Avenue. 

Sanctified Revival live at The Listening Room at Irish Bred Pub, Covington, Saturday Feb. 11 

This power trio is made up of Harley Dills (vocals and guitar), Bill Mitchell (bass and vocals), and Owen Dills (drums and keys). This is Southern Rock with a twist. Some of their biggest influences include the Black Crowes, Rolling Stones, and Grace Potter. That's a pretty cool mix! And you can expect to hear several tunes from their latest album, "Nickels and Dimes." These guys can play! 

Grassville live at Mystic Grill, Covington, Friday, Feb. 10 7 p.m. 

John Nipper and company will blow you away with their authentic Bluegrass sounds. Unreal vocal harmonies and jaw-dropping instrumentation, this is bonafide Bluegrass, folks. Seriously, these guys are legit! 

Anthony Mancini Band live at The Speakeasy, Porterdale, Saturday, Feb. 11 9 p.m. 

These jazz cats have been impressing a lot of folks with their weekly Wednesday night residency at The Listening Room. In addition to classics and standards, you can always count on at least a few surprises like jazzy versions of Led Zeppelin tunes! This should be a blast in Porterdale.
